I received a phone call from this strange number at 7:50 in the morning and when I checked the message, all I heard in the background was what sounded like some kind of call center but no person leaving me a specific message.

Girlfriend received a call from this number claiming to be the u.s. government claiming she had been selected for a grant. They asked if she wanted the money in hand or direct deposit. They pushed that direct deposit would be best. When she said she didn't want it they hung up instantly. Watch out its a scam

Obvious scam concerning fake Govt. grants. Caller couldn't spell or even properly pronounce the words "United States"...pretty sad stuff....

Someone called me from this number and I was just someone chuckling then they hung up.

Guy called I asked who it was. He said he was calling about a grant of some kind. He was really hard to understand. I told him to please not call me again and hung up. moments later I received a call from an unknown number. I answered and he said "you say not to call back and I call back anyway, what you gon do?" I hung up.

Got a call from this number, someone claiming, with a thick accent, to be working on behalf of the United States saying I had been awarded a grant. Hung up, and he called back multiple times asking me if "I was happy with myself" obvious scam.

Same story as everyone else has mentioned. Caller called had a thick accent and claimed to have a grant for me from the US Department of Defense. This is a scam

I just got two calls in rapid succession from this number. Didn't answer either one. Left a voicemail message for me, but there was nothing there. After reading these, I'm glad I didn't pick up.

Same here, my inlaw (non English speaker) just got the call and hanged up due to language barrier, the guy calls back and I take the call and this is what happens
Me: Hello
Him: who is this?
Me: This is "Joe", who are you looking for?
Him: yes, this it for you Mr. Joe, I was just talking to you and you hanged up on me, what happened?
Me: you were not talking to me..(interrupted)
Him: YES!, I was talking to you and you hanged up, what is with that?
Me: How can I help you?
Him: Why did you hang up?
Me: Who is this?
Him: hum, I need to talk to you Sr.
Me: What do you need?
Him: First, why did you hang up?
Me: Ok, Im hanging up now, bye.

This is definitely a scam, good thing about this is that the guys trying to pull it up don't know what they are doing and treat you as if they know you coming at you and fighting over small tings. Don't fall for it.

So, this number just called me. I said "hello?" And I heard "hello" in response, but it was far away and I'm pretty sure I was hearing my own voice. I hung up immediately. It's already weird enough that it's not a 10 digit number, but from all these comments I'm reading.. Wow. Hoping they don't call back from an unknown number. I've blocked the number.

Just received a call from this number on 4 /27/15.

Pretty much the same thing as everyone else. Got a call today, 4/27/15, on my cell phone. Said something about being from the U.S. govt, I laughed at them, they hung up.

yea got a call from this number saying they were from the department of rent or something, their accent was so thick i could barely understand them. its like they don't realize the government only sends in the mail anything.

When I picked up, I thought I heard someone briefly say something short from a distance but I didn't catch what it was. I said hello, and then after a few seconds of silence they hung up. After reading the other comments here, I'm glad they hung up and if they call again I won't answer!

This is a total scam. They claim they are the Federal Government and they are offering grant money to people who pay their taxes. I kept her on the phone talking while trying to to laugh...

I got a call from 25485 this morning. They said (in a very thick accent) they were the US government. I replied "Bulls***" several times and hung up on them. They haven't called back.

Called and told me the govt wanted to give me a $8500 grant. I let him talk until he asked for a credit card number, to which I then informed him I didn't need the money. He proceeded to ask why I wasted his "f*****g time" if I didn't want money, then hung up.

Needless to say, I give his customer service "Two Thumbs Down."

I got a weird message with a sound of someone's voice. So, I just talked to them in German and pretended I couldn't speak English, they hung up and added this number to my block list.

I got a call from this number, roughly 30 minutes after being called by another scam, (917)780-4986. I didn't answer this number, I just sighed, looked at it, and hit 'ignore'. I wonder who else will be scam calling me?

Same deal, called my cellphone 15 minutes ago, promised 8G in govt grants in exchange for my checking account information. Heavy foreign accent. Could not pronounce "United States." Irony is that I intern for the federal govt. Not one of our people! Could it be that my Nigerian Prince has finally materialized? Hmmm. Sadly, there's a senior out there who might fall for this, as bogus as it is. I've seen it happen.

I got a call from this number about 7pm I ignored it and let it go to voicemail. The voicemail was some guy using a clearly fake creepy voice and said 'I see you' long pause and them started laughing and hung up. Lol very strange.
