I answered this call at 9:15 AM this morning, and a woman told me she needed to update my computer because it was not receiving updates. I asked what kind of updates and she would not say. I yold her I was at work and could not do this, and she said again she needed to help me set up my computer to receive updates. I am computer savy, and do not need anyone to do this for me. SCAM of some kind.

They just called me but, I was on another call and couldn't pick up. I get these calls all TOO often and hate it. However, this time I'm prepared and actually hoping they DO call me back . . . so I can lead them on a merry chase. ;-)

I received a call from this number today at about 5 PM. The female on the phone was difficult to understand so I had her repeat herself. She wanted to update my computer but I told her I was driving. She could not explain the updates. No was not in her vocabulary so I hung up.

I have gotten calls from this number several times. Each time it's a man with a heavy accent who said he was calling to update my Windows computer. He said my Windows computer was not updating properly. I recently bought a Surface Book so without giving him any information I told him I wasn't having any problems and he kept saying the same things over without giving me any information. He also didn't use my name so I know he wasn't from Microsoft. It's a scam.

You'd think they'd change numbers. I received a call from this number and also 914666675. Said my computer was sending error messages to Microsoft because it couldn't process updates.

Fake Microsoft calling to scam naive computer users into thinking they've been hacked or infected with viruses. It's hilarious because I'm a Computer Repair professional and once they find that out they just hang up on me.

ATTENTION ALL:

MICROSOFT WILL NEVER CALL YOU! They have much better things to do than to sit and monitor their billions of users all day. If you have already let them onto your system, call a professional in your area to give your computer a quick sweep, they normally are harmless and simply show you a few things to scare you and ask for $300 to fix it. Sometimes they leave monitoring software, just get a pro to take a look to be safe.

Got calls twice from same number. I have learned not to answer numbers I do not recognize. Good thing to read all these messages from others so I know what these morons are trying to perpetrate on others. May the fleas from a thousand camels find their tents.

Just received a call from 666675. I absentmindedly answered, as I was waiting, on another call without looking at the caller ID. The male with the thick accent said, "This is Microsoft technical support. Your Windows computer is not updating correctly, correct?" I immediately said my computer is just fine and hung up.

These people are scumbag leeches who prey on others. I had a good time with one. I had a few minutes so I led them on a wild goose chase. They kept trying to help me and I kept saying that I couldn't figure out how to do what they wanted. Finally after about seven minutes I declared "I don't understand how to do this on a Mac" and then they hung up.

These people are trying to social engineer their way into your computer: feel free to talk to them, but give all wrong information and keep them on the line for as long as you can!

I keep getting a call from this number... I can tell something fishy is going on CLEARLY. But, anyways I just answer and tell them I think it's strange they say my computer is having technical issues when I don't even have a computer. Although I do have a computer lol, they hang up right away.

666675 ("Kevin" from Microsoft (not))

So I answered this call because my roommates were sleeping right next to me, and I did not want to wake them up. The guy, who had a thick Indian accent, called himself Kevin from Microsoft and said "How are you?" I am already aware of these kinds of scams because I get them all the time when I try to watch shows on the computer. I told him flat that "if he didn't get off my line I was calling the cops." He hung up after a couple of seconds. Don't fall for this crap. These are probably the same people that run that "Microsoft virus scam" when you go to watch movies on the internet. You know, the one that says alert and says "you are seeing these popups because you have a virus on your computer." total crap.

I have gotten this call a couple of times on my cell. I work in a company with over 100 computers. They tell me my windows computer is having trouble and they need to correct it. I ask which computer, this is the best joke I lead them on a merry chase. Then I tell them I had them on the phone long enough to trace the call "click" gone. I love playing with them.

I received this call today on my cell phone. The caller was a man with an Indian accent who said he was calling from Microsoft Windows Technical Support. I said I did not ask for technical support. He then said that my computer was not accepting Microsoft updates. I asked, How do you know this? and he hung up. Some people may be fooled by this scam, because if they have a MS Windows or Outlook account, they may have provided their phone number in the account profile. The commenter above is correct - Microsoft does not have the time to call users individually to alert them of issues with their computers!

He just called me so I strung him along for a bit. Told him I was using a Mac, he still told me to click the Windows key. He's an idiot, but he's fishing for bigger idiots.

They want access to your computer and they steal information while they are in there, I had this call this morning i did not answer it as it was an unusual number, thank you all for giving me enough info to protect myself from these types. I had a similar call before and they said they were Microsoft employees and were to help me update my windows as i had a problem, i can do that myself.

We've been getting these calls recently. With thick Indian accents, their names were Daisy and Josh! Do not fall for it guys! Just enjoy yourself and ask them questions that they would have difficulty answering! I am based in Australia... I'm wondering if they are calling from overseas. First they called me from my normal cell, then from my VIBER!! They are trying everything they can... don't be fooled!
