The 21210 number called me & this was not the first time so I blocked it. They called me back 2 hours later w/ a + in the front so it showed up at "+212 10" calling me... Why do they call me & how did they get my number?

I am confirming this number is not legit: a fake Windows tech called me from 21210 (and +21210) attempted to scam me out of $200+ by insisting I needed to purchase a license key renewal for Windows. When I told him I needed to go over my finances before deciding, he put a Startup Encryption up, which required me to type in the password he set to ever access my computer again (known as ransoming your PC).

It was frustrating at first, but an easy fix. Luckily I had a system restore point available from only a couple hours before. Restoring to that point removed the password. If you turn off your computer before you notice there is a password, your process may be different.

Best part is he called back at the time I told him I would make a decision. I won't go into detail, but I wasn't very nice. It was so satisfying to rub in his face that his ransom-plan was foiled within minutes.

Seriously, don't trust this number. Block it if you can... ignore it (or even change your number) if you can't.
